Hypnosis is an excellent technique for curing oneself from bad habits. The principal advantage of this method is it is almost hidden from perceptive view. The person being subject to hypnosis even does not realize the changed lifestyle and the many benefits brought about by the process.
Losing weight through hypnosis
One can take weight loss as an example. Many people who opted for hypnotic therapy and enjoy positive results ask family and friends whether they see any measurable benefit or not. Many patients lose three kilograms and do not realize it until they do so. Patients subjected to this treatment for losing weight eat less and much more healthier. Portions which previously was of large size becomes much smaller. Suggestion given in the hypnotic stage reflects behavior.
There are reasons for such subtlety. The subconscious mind control the human habit behavior. Tying your shoelace is an obvious example. Every person does it- but they do it unconsciously. No person tying a shoelace thinks about the process. Since it is not thought, nobody notices.
Eradicating bad compulsive behavior
The example of tying a shoelace provides a good example of bad behaviors being eradicated by hypnosis. In this particular case, we can take the example of overeating. Food is consumed a certain amount as we follow a habit. Our internal “programming” urges us to eat food. It follows that if this “program” is changed, we will also eat less. Some people, post their hypnosis period, eat only 25 percent of what they were consuming before. The best part is that they will not even notice that they are eating much less. This is because we are a creature of habit and we do not notice things or actions that are borne out of habit. We will not be conscious that we are eating reduced amounts of food.
Hypnosis works wonders to cure the smoking habit. Many times a compulsive smoker has quit cigars after a session without being conscious of leaving this deadly habit. It can also cure anxiety and makes a person happy in the most subtle way possible.
The main benefit of hypnosis is that the person being hypnotized does not have to consciously plan his behavior. This fares much better compared to counting calories or weighing the portion sizes you will eat the whole day. In contrast, thinking about your diet will make you hungry. Eventually you will abandon your weight loss program.
